This is the recipe for a modern-day Japanese dessert ‘Hakuto Peach Jelly’ that’s very easy to make at home. It is generally made and stored in sterilised jars kept in the refrigerator to be used as and when required. You can serve it with fruits, ice-creams, frozen yoghurt or as a standalone dessert in shot glasses. Perfect to light up an informal party!

Ingredients

• Fresh peach juice                   5 cups
• Sugar                                    7 cups
• Dry pectin                             1 package

Procedure

  1. Put a saucepan on medium heat with peach juice and pectin in it, stir and bring to a boil.
  2. Stir in sugar and boil for 3 minutes on high heat.
  3. Remove from heat and skim any foam that forms.
  4. Ladle hot jelly into sterilised jars and refrigerate to chill until ready to serve.
